Mr. Stewart received his B.S. degree in Personnel and Industrial Relations from the University of Maryland and his J.D. degree, cum laude, from the University of Baltimore School of Law. Upon graduation from law school, Pat worked as a labor and employment law attorney for Venable, LLP, where he was made a partner. In 2000, Pat joined Kollman & Saucier, P.A. as a shareholder.
Pat has represented management clients on a wide range of labor and employment-related matters before administrative agencies, state courts, and federal courts, including wage-hour administration, wrongful termination, employee non-competition, employment discrimination. He has been lead counsel in representing employers in dozens of union organizing campaigns in different regions throughout the country. Pat also has represented numerous employers as chief negotiator in collective bargaining negotiations on renewal contracts as well as first agreements and effects bargaining. Pat has served as counsel to employers in numerous labor arbitrations as well as in the defense of unfair labor practice charges. As a result, Pat is intimately familiar with the procedures of the agencies that oversee labor and employment laws, such as the National Labor Relations Board, the U.S. Department of Labor, and the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission. Pat also conducts supervisory training for employers on various labor and employment topics.
Pat was the editor of the Maryland Employment Law Letter from 1990 through 1995, and he has written numerous publications on labor and employment law issues. He is a member of the Maryland State Bar Association, the American (Section of Labor and Employment Law) Bar Association, and the District of Columbia Bar. He is admitted to practice in all federal and state courts in Maryland and the District of Columbia, as well as the United States Supreme Court.
